FOR LGBT WRITERS
For THE GULLY ONLINE MAGAZINE
The Gully is an international English-Spanish internet publication in
which LGBT writers cover everything from globalization to gay marriage.
We are seeking openly lesbian, gay, bi, transgender writers both as
freelancers and as staff to contribute in depth reports, feature
articles,
interviews, and analysis.
Freelancers can submit unpublished work or ideas on any subject to
queries@thegully.com in plain text in the body of an email (only photos
may be attached), with the word Submission in the subject line. Include
a
list of previously published work, and a few sentences about yourself.
Staff writers must have: - strong
research, writing skills
- sense of professionalism
and attention to detail
- wide-ranging interests
- skeptical, questioning sensibility
- a
commitment to lgbt rights
- familiarity with global
and regional politics
- familiarity with local,
regional lgbt mov't
- knowledge of other languages
a plus
1 article every two weeks, between 850 - 1500 words.
Payment between US$35 - $60 per article and 1/2 of any
syndication fee.
