Some people had a problem with the soldier at age 22 or so and the 12 year old boy. People are quick to see child molestation but this was so beautifully acted and simple in the storytelling I really enjoyed this.There was no doubt in my mind the boy was certainly encouraging all that transpired and fell completely in love.

En Rose (My life in pink) France VHSThis is a brilliant film IMO...Where they found this 7 or 8 year old kid to play this role is beyond me. The kid is so real and believes so much that he really should be a woman, that without it being mentioned you know this kid is headed for a total transgendered life, yet he so innocent. The parents roles are both well acted as well but the young boy Ludovic is the star.
This won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film and a Prix du soleil at Cannes.,.Deservedly so!

Goldmine-DVD-BritishVery strange film of the Rock Music world in England, with Flamboyant Rock stars and music.
Christian Bale(The New Batman) does a small role here (He was the young boy in" Empire of the Sun" Speilbergs War film) and Ewan Mc Gregor gives us 2 or 3 full frontal nude shots and I can see why he isn't shy about showing it off!
There is a long shot of Mc Gregor screwing Christian Bale. Sacre Merde!

On-Australian DVDAna Kokkinos' Head On plunges straight into the eye of the storm that is the life of Ari (Alex Dimitraides) a handsome ultra masculine gay 19 year old Greek Australian youth who finds himself in a rapidly escalating claustrophobic ethnic community, with its rigid family values. Anyone of any generation who has ever felt at odds with his or her environment can identify with the characters in "Head On."
Very fine acting here by the entire cast..Dimitraides is one of the hottest actors I've seen in gay film. The sex scenes are almost violent in nature, which shows this guy's anger with himself and his environment. Sadly he has a chance for a real relationship but again he gives in to his violent nature and screws it up.
This is a dark film and sadly not one character finds joy in their lives.
The fact that it is a woman behind the camera makes this film even more remakable

Ijust feel good about this film. It shows a really disfunctional family and a young man's struggle to placate family while stuggling to be who he is..And WINS!
This was one of Hollywoods best efforts IMO.

The explicit sexual scenes are beautifully photographed and the acting is very good. The end is a bit over the top but very touching...Young Linus Roache is delectable and this brought back a lot of memories from my two years in seminary.

This is a delightful romp of mistaken identities. Six couples meet on the net or by phone and all make plans to meet at 12:00 at KM.O, which is the center of the Plaza de Major. The romp begins when they all meet up with the wrong people.

Question of Love-France DVDLaurent, a 23 year old student , shares an apartment with his best friend Carole using their relationship to deflect questions about his private life. This perfect ruse falls apart when he meets and falls in love with Cedric, a young man completely comfortable with and unburdened by his homosexuality.
Cedric does not hesitate to introduce Laurent to his mother who accepts her son and his new boyfriend. But even though he loves Laurent, Cerdic refuses to live a lie and therefore gives Laurent an ultimatum. Either live your life openly and without apology or this relationship is over.
Very handsome actors and wonderfully romantic...I adore this film!

get over it France-DVDAnother coming of age drama with similar scenarios to "Just a Question of Love." Young student (swim team champ) etc. who has a female best friend is already out but secretly and meets a French/Arab student.
This is a bit of a cliche but I liked the main character who at least wasn't trying to fool himself.
A great sibling rivalry with the neglected brother who is sort of a punk!
Burnt
Money-Argentina-DVDIn my opionion, this is the film George Roy Hill should have made with Newman and Redford. It is an Argentinian "Butch Cassidy," albeit the two men are lovers (They meet in a public toilet and the sex is grapic and raw...) These men are hired assassins (with zero conscience) and theives, and yet they are completely devoted to each other..There are some strange issues going on here in this very dark and violent film. The actors are stunning and very believable...a strange dicotomy in the one man with his honesty in sex but his conflict with his religion! A brooding film but excellent direction!

American - U.S. DVDThis is a low budget Indy film that was cheaply financed. Some of the actors work free because they believed in the film (or at least that is the director's take).
A Handsome yuppie, not quite ready for a new relationship, hires a hustler, and the man is a handsome young Aussie who charges 200 American. The guy is so sweet and sexy that Conrad makes him a proposition that becomes very complicated during the day.
Again, beautiful models. In the interviews with the actors and directors on this disc, all the guys are straight. It amazes me how they can play tonsil hockey in the film and make it look so real. I mean these guys are into it... Perhaps they are just great actors, but ??? I like this concept and story very much.

Is-British DVDLondon's gay club world comes alive in this sexy, funny drama about two young men—one a bare-knuckle fighter and the other an ambitious record producer—who fall in love despite their enormously different backgrounds. Steve Bell is unforgettable as the Blackpool fighter who is struggling with his sexuality. Ian Rose plays the ultra-cool urbanite, and Roger Daltry of (The Who) is wickedly funny as Ian's bitchy boss.
I love this film. Steve Bell is a marvelous and very sexy actor and the sex scenes in here are really first rate but not tawdry. Roger Daltry is superb as an aging queen with tons of money and a very mercenary heart. God help us, it has a surprise but happy ending!
Yossi and
Jagger Israel-DVDYossi is a serious and strong featured commander in the Israeli army. Jagger is his free spirited and boyishly handsome charge. They are both soldiers and they are in love. The first film from Israel that I've seen and it's very well done. I saw the end coming a short way into the film but had to suffer through to the end. The love scenes are so romantic that I wasn't even concentrating on the sex. This film is based on a true story of two Israeli soldiers set in a remote army base near Lebanon. I love to watch this film over and over again, but I get so sad at the beginning knowing the story and how it ends.
The Man I
love-France-DVDThis is one of my all time favs...
What gay man hasn't sat beside a pool and dreamed of delcaring his love to a straight boy whose Speedo fits just right? How many of us dream that we might get the opportunity to peel that Speedo away or that our love might be returned?
Well for the irrepressible Martin (who happens to be HIV positive), just dreaming and hoping are no longer enough. Martin falls for the straight Lucas the moment he sees him leap from the high dive and decides to take a leap of his own. Within minutes he declares his love for Lucas who is less than thrilled. No one is more surprised than Martin then when his seemingly hopeless infautation ends up bringing him friendship, passion, and even true love.
This film has it all: comedy (a marvelous camp of a mom), drama, passion, and love. There is a scene at the end of the film when Martin asks Lucas to tell him how he loves him and Lucas (who realizes Martin is losing ground with his illness) just holds him very close and whispers, "Je T'aime Je T'aime..." It is so powerful and so real I lose it everytime and just bawl. I told you I was a hoperless romantic. Of course Andy just laughs at me and says wonderfully profound stuff like, "It's only a movie."
